3 Simple Tips For Writing a Letter

Sometimes the hardest thing isn't sending a letter, but actually sitting down to write it. Sometimes what's hard, is to define what you'll talk about, and why you want to tell all those things to someone. Well, let me give you some encouragement, because I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I've wrote a letter to someone, and I felt hopeful; and I've received a letter from someone, and it had made me incredibly happy. Even if the letter was simple and short, it mattered that the person thought about me, and chose to write me a letter, something that I can treasure for the rest of the my life I want to. So be that person, and make someone's day.

Here are some simple tips that will get you writing this very simple letter to someone special in just a few minutes. Ask yourself a few questions before you begin writing, this will give you a better a better idea of what to say.

1. Who are you sending this to? is it a family member? Or a friend? Does this person know you personally?

ex. I will send this letter to a long lost friend, this person used to know me personally.

2. Why are you writing this letter? Why are you writing it to this specific person?

ex. because I heard her name and I thought, I wonder what she's up to, it's been years since we last spoke.

3. What do you want to get out of this experience? Out of contacting this person and out of telling this person what you're about to say? What are you trying to accomplish?

ex. I want to regain contact with this person, and hopefully become good friends again like we were years ago.

The examples help the questions sound more realistic, you don't need to come up with a big explanation, just knowing who you are writing to and why and what you want to get out of the experience helps you sit down and write that letter, after the first couple of sentences, I'm sure your story will start taking form and you'll have a beautiful letter.
